Four different casks are selected by hand; ex-bourbon barrels, small quarter casks, virgin American oak barrels and larger European Oak hogshead. This complex combination creates a golden, creamy peat-smoked Islay malt with warm, toasted vanilla notes. Four oak is an extraordinary fusion of flavours including hints of sandalwood, pine, fir and willow. It's a big malt from the shores of the big ocean.
Taste: Colour: Bright gold Nose: Islay malt peat-smoke with smooth pine resin, warm autumn fruits and multi-layered oak. Taste: Smoked stone fruit and dried fig becoming peat embers in cream. Finish: Vanilla and tobacco smoke, tangy vines and salted liquorice.
